Lisa Marie is a Chartered Physiotherapist with specialized experience in sports physiotherapy and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. With a Master's degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the University of Exeter and extensive clinical experience, Lisa brings comprehensive skills in injury assessment, treatment, and prevention to Nailsea Physio.

 

In addition to her role at Nailsea Physio, Lisa is also actively working at Surrey Sports Park, where she provides physiotherapy services to diverse athletes across multiple sports disciplines and delivers pitch-side injury management during sporting events. Her experience spans both clinical and pitch-side environments, having previously worked with Exeter Saracens RFC and University of Exeter Men and Women’s football teams, where she provided immediate injury care and support during matches and training sessions.

 

Her hospital training at Goa Medical College and Hospital gave her valuable experience across ten specialised departments, including orthopaedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary care, and women's health, ensuring a well-rounded approach to patient care. 

Experience & Interests: Lisa has particular interest in lower limb biomechanics and sports-specific rehabilitation protocols. During her MSc studies, she conducted advanced biomechanical assessments using technologies including isokinetic dynamometry, force plate analysis, and 3D motion capture. Her dissertation research focused on Platelet-Rich Plasma treatments for Achilles tendon pathologies, giving her specialized knowledge in tendon rehabilitation. She is committed to athlete welfare and safety, holding certifications in Child Safeguarding 
(RFU), HST Safeguarding, and Introduction to Clean Sport (UKAD), reinforcing her dedication to ethical practice in sports medicine. Lisa values an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to physiotherapy, working collaboratively with patients to establish clear goals and treatment pathways. She believes in empowering patients through education about their conditions and self-management strategies.

 

Outside of the clinic, Lisa plays badminton and basketball occasionally, giving her firsthand understanding of the physical demands of various sports. She is also an accomplished vocalist and enjoys painting in her spare time.
