Experience & interests:
Emilia has a degree from Cardiff Metropolitan University in BSc sports massage, rehabilitation and conditioning, and I decided to focus more on sports massage and the rehabilitation aspect. I have experience working with elite athletes such as the Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey team. I have also treated athletes suffering with acute injuries to athletes with chronic problems - I recently treated a cricket player with osteoarthritis in their knee.
I am able to use a variety of massage techniques to provide clients with their desired outcome. I am proficient in techniques such as myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, trigger points and many more.
My interests are in muscle energy techniques used to lengthen tissues and increase flexibility and range of movement. I also am interested in not only the physical benefits of massage but also the mental benefits with my dissertation being on the effects injury has on an athletes mental health.
