Advanced Balance & Strength Testing with VALD
Track Your Strength and Recovery
Next-generation strength, balance and movement assessment using VALD ForceDecks and Dynamo. Clear data. Better decisions.
At Nailsea Physio, we believe in using the best technology to support your recovery, strength, and performance. That’s why we’ve introduced VALD ForceDecks and DynaMo, cutting-edge assessment tools that provide real-time data on your strength, balance, and mobility.
Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, looking to prevent falls, or optimising athletic performance, our evidence-based testing will give you the insights needed for a faster, more effective recovery.
What Are VALD Force Decks?
VALD ForceDecks are dual force plates designed to analyse how your body generates and absorbs force. In simple terms, they measure how you move, balance, and control your body under different conditions.

These plates provide high-speed force and motion analysis, making it possible to detect even subtle imbalances that may not be visible through regular observation.

What Do ForceDecks Measure?
-
Balance & Stability: How well you maintain control when standing or shifting weight
-
Jump & Landing Mechanics: How efficiently your body generates power and absorbs impact
-
Symmetry & Weight Distribution: Differences between left and right sides
-
Rate of Force Development (RFD): How quickly you can produce force (important for injury prevention and athletic performance)
-
Rehabilitation Progress: Objective data to track your improvement over time
Common Tests We Perform with ForceDecks
-
Static Balance Test – Measures your postural stability, identifying fall risk and coordination issues
-
Countermovement Jump Test – Evaluates lower-body power, commonly used in sports performance and rehab
-
Single-Leg Balance & Strength Tests – Detects asymmetries that could contribute to injury
-
Sit-to-Stand & Step-Up Tests – Assesses leg strength and functional mobility for everyday movements

Who Benefits from ForceDecks?
older adults
Assess fall risk and improve confidence in movement, strength and balance
What is VALD Dynamo?
VALD DynaMo is a handheld dynamometer that accurately measures muscle strength across different parts of the body. Unlike traditional manual muscle testing, which relies on subjective assessments, DynaMo provides precise, real-time strength readings to ensure an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

What Does it Measure?
-
Isometric Strength Testing: Measures how strong your muscles are when resisting force
-
Left vs. Right Side Strength Comparison: Identifies imbalances that could lead to injuries
-
Progress Tracking: Quantifies improvements in strength over time
-
Grip Strength Analysis: For elbow and wrist injuries and overall indicator of muscle health and function
Common Tests We Perform with DynaMo
-
Neck Strength Testing – Measures cervical muscle strength, useful for headache and migraine patients, whiplash injuries, concussion management, and posture-related issues
-
Quadriceps & Hamstring Strength Testing – Helps assess knee health, recovery from ACL injuries and other knee surgeries as well as determining readiness to return to sport
-
Hip Abduction & Adduction Strength Tests – Identifies hip weaknesses that could contribute to back, knee, or groin pain and injury
-
Shoulder Strength Testing – Important for rotator cuff rehab and post-injury assessments
-
Grip Strength Testing – Used for general strength assessment and conditions like arthritis or nerve-related issues

Who Benefits from The Dynamo?
Athletes
Fine-tune training by identifying weaknesses
Anyone with Chronic pain or imbalances
Monitor muscle function and joint stability
older adults
Assess and monitor muscle strength and joint mobility to help guide exercise
Post Surgery &
Injury Recovery
Ensure muscles are building and regaining strength during your rehab
