Rachael is an experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a particular passion for women’s health, pregnancy and postnatal rehabilitation, and helping people return to the activities they love.
Having started her physiotherapy career within the NHS at North Bristol NHS Trust, Rachael gained valuable experience across a wide range of specialties, including trauma and orthopaedics, stroke rehabilitation, surgery and musculoskeletal outpatients. She subsequently moved into private practice, developing her expertise in assessing and treating a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries and post-operative rehabilitation.
Rachael takes a holistic, patient-centred approach to physiotherapy. She believes that successful rehabilitation is about more than simply treating an injury. By taking the time to understand each person's lifestyle, goals and individual challenges, she develops realistic, personalised treatment plans that combine hands-on treatment, exercise rehabilitation, education and long-term injury prevention.
Women's health and pregnancy rehabilitation are particular areas of interest for Rachael. She enjoys supporting women throughout pregnancy and their postnatal recovery, helping with pelvic girdle pain, abdominal muscle separation, rebuilding strength and confidence, and returning safely to exercise and running.
Alongside physiotherapy, Rachael is a highly qualified yoga teacher, having completed 500 hours of training in India. She teaches Hatha, Yin, Hatha Flow and pregnancy and postnatal yoga, combining her physiotherapy knowledge with the benefits of movement, strength, flexibility and relaxation.
Rachael is excited to introduce physiotherapist-led yoga classes at Nailsea Physio and to play an important role in developing our women's health services, offering a supportive and individualised approach to exercise and rehabilitation.
Outside the clinic, Rachael enjoys running and has completed four half marathons. She also enjoys practising yoga, playing the clarinet and piano, and spending time with her family.
